The COVID-19 pandemic had a profound effect on children, affecting their physical health, behaviour and psychology. Some issues included a lack of attention span, lower immunity, and clinginess to adults.
Early childhood education is very important for a child's development and future. A school plays a crucial role in creating a safe environment for children to grow and develop.
This project uses Montessori and Froebelian Pedagogy principles for the interior design of Balgreen Nursery School, with the aim to help children recover from the effects of the pandemic.
Final poster Sheet 1:
This sheet focuses mainly on the analysis of the site -Balgreen Nursery School, Edinburgh. This includes site and spatial analysis, activity mapping and circulation diagram, and the stakeholder diagram.
The main conclusions from the research on the effect of the pandemic on child psychology, behaviour and physical health are also shown.

This sheet shows the proposed zoning of the school and the classrooms and the final design plan derived from it. This sheet also shows the various takeaways from case studies and design inspirations for various areas in the school.

This sheet shows the design details and rendering of the various spaces and design features in the school. Features such as cloak hanger furniture, the addition of skylights, modifications to the existing kitchen, spatial planning of the classroom, and outdoor play area additions to existing areas have been pointed out and explained.
