"Girl Talk" is a publication which explores the subject of menstruation and its societal implications throughout history and today, shedding light on real people's issues and stories, and the community and art which has formed from the pain.
"Venus Bled" is a shoot inspired by the painting "The Birth of Venus" by Sandro Botticelli, in which Venus - the goddess of sex, love and fertility - is portrayed as being born from the ocean. In this shoot, I aimed to explore how Venus was wrongfully depicted throughout history, focusing on how her fertility was exclusively related to her sexuality, never showing the reality that comes hand-in-hand with fertility.
"The Battle for Endorphins" is a shoot inspired by menstrual-related conditions such as endometriosis and PCOS. The concept of the shoot relates to the idea of how many people with periods heavily rely on pain killers to get through day-to-day life, due to the lack of medical support. These pain killers often only suppress the issue for a short time, rather than heal it.
