Castles in the Air

Castles in the Air looks at the places we go to feel most alive and escape society. The places we go when the cities are on fire, where we go to feel inspired when we are tired. I’ve spent my lifetime daydreaming as a means to escape. Dissociating myself from the world when I felt I was drowning. The older I get the more I realised it’s been a coping mechanism that’s allowed me to leave my anxiety for a while and travel somewhere where I am completely free.

I'm not Inspired, I'm fu**ing Tired

Sore backs, empty plates, freezing homes full of everything we hate.
Day in and day out it’s the same, trying to make ends meet, keep playing the game.
Minutes feel like hours, blaring TVs, voices fill the room from those in power.
Melt into to the sofa to switch off for a while, before pressing play again and returning from your tower.

Paracosm

“A detailed imaginary world thought generally to originate in childhood. The creator of a paracosm has a complex and deeply felt relationship with this subjective universe, which may incorporate real- world or imaginary characters and conventions”

Sunshine, arrays of flowers you’re at one with your kin. Parents would read stories, an imaginary land, count the freckles on your skin.
Still to this day you venture there to escape, a world full of creatures who will always keep you safe.

This Sound

This sound is sensual and plentiful.
It’s medicine and medical.
It gets your feet moving and your ear buds tingling. The rhythm and beats set you free, aid your vision in what you want to see.

Everything's Polluted Even my Brain Sometimes

Everything’s polluted even my brain sometimes, someday’s it’s rose tinted but here it’s required.
Digesting all this knowledge makes me feel sick, something’s off, I can barely think.
Feed us lies, don’t know what’s true, running through the streets, hearts in full bloom.
At peace at last, disguised as our inner child, time to relax, slip away for a while.
No one will know, with the chaos of the world it’s sometimes hard to stay afloat.

When the world is crashing down and you feel completely lost, suffocating and drowning where do you go?

Wanderlife

Calm your brain and dissociate yourself from the chaos.
Listen to the trees moving in the wind, swimming in crystal clear water, ice cold skin.
Up the stairs to escape.
Our castles in the air await.
