With the ever increasing student population and consequential increase in rent in Edinburgh, an affordable housing space is the need of the hour not just for the students but also the local residents. This project is aimed at designing affordable student accommodation by proposing cohousing students with the locals of the city.

Residents can have a small chat with neighbors passing by in the hallway or invite them in for a meal. The flooring of passageway is polished concrete with planters on one edge. The ceiling is installed with cementitious fiber wood panels to absorb the noise and echoes in the long corridor.
