BA (HONS) DESIGN FOR TEXTILES

Movement inspired line

Coming from a contemporary dance background I approach my artwork with this idea of capturing movement and joyful expression. Using my body and unusual tools as an extension of oneself to draw, I capture the marks created from movement to turn the essence of dance into a visual art. Admiring artists such as Trisha Brown and Barbara Hepworth for their use of form, texture, and line, I have always been drawn to this style of textural large scale immersive art. Using the combination of a joyful colour palette and abstracted marks I have created a range of interior textiles that convey positive feeling and flowing energy.
