BA (HONS) DESIGN FOR TEXTILES

Life in Process

An exploration of belief through woven textile. Using fairy trails and their root of belief for a younger generation as my inspiration, I took the opportunity to explore belief or lack of in myself. Translating the ethereal and magical qualities of captivating locations through bleach work and textured woven samples, channelling my emotions and putting it into every piece. Using a dream-like monochromatic palette influenced by Rebecca Earley, I aspire for my collection of throws and Cushions to emit a comforting, warming sensation. Studying textiles throughout the years I became aware of the vast amount of disregarded yarns and materials, providing me with a circular design mindset. I aim to upcycle disregarded yarns and give them a new lease of life, both through this project and when I graduate opening my own business.
