BA (HONS) DESIGN FOR TEXTILES

Efflorescence

Efflorescence draws inspiration from the wildness of nature, blooming florals and adventures in the countryside, as it celebrates the way nature makes us feel uplifted. The designs explore digitally distorting flora and fauna to spark imagination.

Efflorescence observes fanciful nature through floral layering and three dimensional embellishments using sequins and beads to incorporate sensory elements. The colour palette injects a sense of escapism and vibrancy which is inspired by my interest in global colour trends. As there is a growing interest in immersive technologies as a form of self expression, animated colours will influence interior spaces.

The collection is digitally printed onto luxurious fabrics such as velvet, silk and voile which is targeted towards spring and summer interiors. The collection is formed of sheer curtains, upholstery fabrics, tableware, home furnishings, wallpaper and wall murals with elements of surprise.
