Body Size and Shape Inclusive Sleepwear

This project focuses on creating a collection of garments which cater to women’s needs. Focusing on body shapes and sizing, an inclusive collection of sleepwear and loungewear is designed. A gap in the market for affordable modern luxury within the sleepwear market is identified. An aim to design a collection with sustainability, functionality and future trends which meets identified needs and wants of the target market.

Investigation into the possible target market for the brand. A variety of women were surveyed to provide information for the project, their needs and wants were analysed and considered in future design processes.

A mood board for the project. Focusing on encapsulating the soft shapes and textures as well as body types and curves. Trend research combined with bedroom related home ware, conveys the mood of the collection.

The colour board focused on deriving from nature. A combination of soft and more vibrant shades were selected. Marbling was developed into a pattern used in the final collection.

The final collection showcases various styles and silhouettes, designed to flatter and fit various body types. The use of organic textiles and adjustable features meet the criteria of the target market. The garments can be sold separately to ensure correct sizing and fit. The collection makes sure various styles can be satisfied from sporty and comfortable to feminine and luxurious.
