BA (HONS) DESIGN FOR TEXTILES

Have a little faith

My goal was to bring positivity, faith and happiness through my collection by incorporating imagery from different aspects of spiritualism as inspiration for my creative process.
Lockdown has made interior textiles more important than ever; being inside day in day out, people have been more interested in redecorating their homes because it makes them feel good. Being around colours and patterns that offer feelings of calm and joy, helps inspire productivity, turning a room into place of focus. My collection of interior textile designs are inspired by contemporary oracle and tarot cards, psychic imagery, feminist imagery and traditional spiritual symbols.
I will use my fabrics and wallpapers to upcycle unloved/ outdated furniture and bring them back to life, turning them into luxury one-of-a-kind pieces. I want to encourage people to modernise/upcycle what they already have, promoting sustainable re-decorating to challenge modern day throwaway culture.
