BA (HONS) DESIGN FOR TEXTILES

Tropical Escape

The aim of my project was to produce a collection of digitally printed interior furnishing fabrics and tableware ceramics inspired by endangered plants continued from semester one. I combined this with architecture and scenery from Indonesia and Brazil, creating the feeling of escapism.
My colour palettes were based on my theme images from both places and research into colour psychology, as I have discovered how important colour is within interiors in terms of the effects it has on our moods. As more people are working from home during the pandemic the colours that surround us have a huge impact and I have tried to incorporate this into my designs by looking at both countries as colour inspiration: Indonesia known for retreats and relaxing scenery and Brazil for the vibrant markets and cities.
