BA (HONS) DESIGN FOR TEXTILES

Let Yourself Glow

Let Yourself Glow is a genderless childrenswear collection that is built to empower, elevate and protect. Tactile knitted structures are formed to create a protective sensory experience, encouraging play and happiness. With a strong focus on colour and pattern, these designs push the boundaries of gender-neutral clothing to encourage children to express themselves without restrictions.

Following a fun, playful narrative my key visual influences were derived from the bright lights of a carnival at night, helping influence colour, texture and shape. Through developing digital pattern from expressive collages, I went on to explore how to combine and manipulate knitted stiches in order to translate bold pattern combinations.

Interactive elements and fun accessories pair with contrasting colour to create an energised final collection. Combining practicality with bold fashion creates playful silhouettes, perfect for the adventurous child.
