Escape Back to Nature is a collection of interior wallpaper and furnishing fabrics. The collection was prompted by people rediscovering outdoor spaces and nature during the Covid-19 Pandemic and national lockdowns, During this time I realised the importance of being in the natural environment. Inspiration also comes from the painter Oscar Oiwa who is known for his monochromatic landscapes. Bringing an element of the outdoors inside as renewed contemporary take on nature inspired textile design the collection aims to create mural wallpapers and furnishing fabrics looking at both macro views of plants and trees as well as contrasting micro designs focusing on textures found in nature. Both styles of designs are monochromatic and a mix of digitally manipulated photography and textural white pencil drawings on a dark ground.
