BA (HONS) DESIGN FOR TEXTILES

Hedonistic Memories

In my project, Hedonistic Memories, I wanted to capture the joy and energy of my travels in India with a gentle retro twist. My aim was to create a collection of knitted fabrics that capture the bright energy of India and detailed patterns of Indian Architecture and crafts. I wanted to embody the joyful expression and eclectic craft trends into my collection by exploring and combination of knit, crochet and embroidery techniques and layering bold energetic colours. Inspired by MaXhosa Africa and Burberry, I created layered patterns and patchwork ideas when developing my samples. The final collection incorporates gentle retro styles and construction techniques combine to create a nostalgic joy for the wearer.
