The hospital gown is associated with illness and leaves patients exposed. There is limited research on problems that healthcare workers experience with the gown. This project aimed to produce an alternative to the hospital gown that, as well as solving patient issues, was practical for healthcare workers. Interviews with healthcare workers revealed that there were issues they face when using the gown that could be resolved in the redesign. Prototypes were produced and an evaluation by patients and healthcare workers showed that they offered improvements for both users. The prototypes were adjusted based on feedback from the evaluations and final designs were proposed.
